I think more people are noticing this due to the net being so "in your pocket" unlike 16 years ago.

In 2000 the Flip Phone was new. No one had the internet in their pocket. Now we have 100 news channels on TV and more and more sites trying to get click and your noticing the coverage being so bad. Now even the reports are starting to say HEY THIS IS NOT EQUAL AT ALL!
